TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA- Head of the Monkeypox Task Force or monkey pox The Executive Board of the Indonesian Doctors Association (PB IDI) Dr. Hanny Nilasari SpKK admitted that there were two requests related to vaccines monkey pox from the gay group.
Hanny said they had concerns and felt they were more at risk of being exposed to monkey deformities, because many of the cases reported in the world occurred in this group.

“There have been two people who contacted me asking for vaccinations before they might get infected, because they felt it was very risky,” he said in the PB IDI webinar, Tuesday (2/8/2022).
However, he said, until now there has not been a single vaccine recommendation issued by the POM RI.
“It is still known that this monkeypox vaccine has not been approved by BPOM RI, even though there have been recommendations from the CDC and WHO,” he added.
It is known that Monkeypox is not a new disease like Covid-19. This disease was first discovered in 1958 in Denmark.
As of July 29, 2022, there have been 76 countries that have reported cases of monkeypox worldwide, with a total of 22,485 confirmed cases of monkeypox worldwide, of which 22,141 cases occurred in non-endemic countries.

The United States recorded the highest number of monkeypox cases, which amounted to 4,906 cases.
In ASEAN, until the end of July 2022, Singapore has reported 11 confirmed cases, Thailand has reported 2 confirmed cases, and the Philippines has reported 1 confirmed case.
