Chairman of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) COVID-19 Task Force, Prof. Zubairi Djoerban, opened his voice regarding the results of the analysis conducted by Bloomberg media recently. In the survey, it turns out that Indonesia is in the second lowest rank of 53 countries in the world.
Indonesia’s own position is lower than the rankings of neighboring countries, namely Malaysia and Singapore. This was immediately responded by Prof. Zubairi through his Twitter account.
“Why does Bloomberg insist on framing Indonesia to always be backward. In February 2021 they said Indonesia needed 10 years to overcome the pandemic,” he tweeted on his personal Twitter account, Thursday (9/12/2021).
“Last August, our COVID-19 resilience was considered the worst. Currently, we are placed second bottom. Worse than Malaysia. Sentiment?” he continued.
As you know, not long ago Bloomberg update the assessment of the country’s best and worst resilience in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. The research was conducted on 53 countries in the world, including Indonesia.
This analysis is carried out to find out and measure how effective a country is in handling the Corona pandemic which is still engulfing the entire world.
It is also structured around 12 assessment categories, from virus containment, quality of health care, vaccination coverage, overall mortality, to progress to restarting the journey. However, unfortunately, Indonesia’s position is at 52, below Malaysia and Singapore.
From the analysis data, the first position is placed by the United Arab Emirates. While the 53rd position is occupied by the Philippines.
