Identity of Suicide Bomber in Ankara Attack Revealed: PKK Activist Ozkan Sahin

The Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that the identity of the suicide bomber who exploded several days ago near the Ministry of Internal Affairs building in Ankara has been identified. According to a statement by the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) activist Ozkan Sahin.

It was previously announced that another participant in the attack was Hasan Oguz, also a PKK activist.

The investigation is ongoing.

On October 1, two militants drove a stolen car to the building of the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs, in the Kizilay district, in the center of Ankara. One of them ran towards the entrance and exploded, the second militant was wounded when he was near the car. Two police officers were slightly wounded in the shootout.

Turkish media reported that the PKK claimed responsibility for the attempted terrorist attack in the center of Ankara.
