The police release the name of the deceased in the murder case in Stjørdal.
The deceased man is 58-year-old Leif-Arne Nicolaisen.
The name will be released in consultation with the family.
Nicolaisen came from Tverrlandet outside Bodø.
The police report that they will come up with the status of the investigation during Friday 26 May.
It was Sunday evening last week that a person was found in an apartment in Stjørdal. Both the police and the healthcare system responded to reports that a dead person had been found at a private address.
A man in his 50s was arrested and charged with murder.
Prosecutor Anette Strøm Røsholdt has stated that it was an acquaintance of the accused who notified the police.
– So far, the police’s main hypothesis is murder, but we are working on several theories, Røsholdt has said.
She has also stated that they are not aware that there has been a relationship between the deceased and the accused.
– We have the impression that it was a chance meeting.
The defense attorney for the accused man has stated that the death occurred in the accused’s apartment, but cannot go into what happened or the relationship between the accused and the deceased.
