The designated Swedish murderer in Brussels, Abdesalem Lassoued, had been living in Belgium illegally for a few years. There are calculations that estimate that there are thousands of individuals in Sweden who do not have the right to be here. Probably there are more among them who think like Lassoued.
Therefore, we must be helped to identify people who are staying illegally in Sweden, instead of constantly saying that some other authority should solve this or that authorities should cooperate more.
It is always “someone else” who has to solve the problem. Start with yourself and use the tools available. It is likely that a notification obligation will also be introduced. It is something that everyone should follow, whether you are a healthcare professional or a technician. We have to do it together, even if it’s not in your job description.
You shouldn’t look down and hope that “someone else” will do the job. It is not easy, it can receive, but what is the alternative?
