The Civil Guard of Cuenca has clarified a Forest fire happened this summer in the town of Pozorrubio de Santiago, managing to identify and investigate the alleged perpetrator for the commission of a crime of forest fire.
The forest fire took place on July 30, 2021 in the vicinity of the hermitage of the Virgen de la Soledad, located in the municipality of Pozorrubio de Santiago (Cuenca) and the entire forest area surrounding said hermitage may have burned, although thanks to the rapid action of the fire extinguishing services it was possible to avoid, being extinguished in less than three hours.
The fire affected a area of 3.1 hectares and apart from the forest mass of the hermitage, some agricultural parcels, not having to regret personal losses or other material damage.
As a result of investigations carried out by the Seprona de Cuenca Research Team and the Horcajo de Santiago Civil Guard Post The fire was clarified and the alleged perpetrator was investigated for an alleged crime of forest fire, for which proceedings were brought to the Court of 1st Instance and Instruction No. 2 of those of Tarancón (Cuenca).
