IDB: Burkina Faso obtains a contribution of 144 million dollars (around 80 billion FCFA)

The Council of Executive Directors of the Islamic Development Bank, meeting on December 10 in Jeddah, approved financing totaling $2.12 billion for new development projects in member countries.

Among the main projects approved are a contribution of 144.00 million to Burkina Faso and 106 million to Uganda, to improve the living environment of the populations and support the transport sector in the two countries.

The council chaired by Dr. Muhammad AL JASSER, also president of the bank and the bank Group, during this 353rd meeting of the Council of Executive Directors approved a total of 16 projects in support of socio-economic development and sustainability in the countries. members. The projects fall within strategic sectors, such as means of transport, energy, health and education, but also capacity building for young people, entrepreneurship and employment.

The African countries below are among others among the beneficiaries of IDB contributions:

-58.0 million for Mali, to improve the electricity transmission network through the modernization and expansion of high voltage transmission infrastructure;

-70.0 million for Chad and 27.13 million for Togo, to support the higher education sector in these two countries;

– 16.90 million for Djibouti, more precisely Boula’os, for a project intended to improve livelihoods in slums through the development of basic economic infrastructure.
