Also, a separate part of the ship will be dedicated to families with children – a geodesic dome called “Aquadome” will be located there, and there will be water shows, dining and entertainment areas, as well as a lounge with a 220-degree view of the surroundings, including a waterfall less than 17 meters high.

On October 29, “Icon of the Seas” set off on its last test voyage in the Baltic Sea from the “Meyer Turku” shipyard in Finland. It is estimated that it will be at sea for up to ten days. Hundreds of technicians, shipyard and cruise line representatives are on board. This time the icon will perform maneuvering tests, speed tests and additional engine tuning. Vibration and noise measurements will also be performed.
The cruise ship has previously undergone a tilt test, the coordinates of the center of gravity and the weight of the light ship have been calculated. Meanwhile, in the middle of the summer, the main engines and rudder of “Jūru ikona” were checked.
The company “Royal Caribbean International” received an order for the first two ships of the “Ikonas” class already in October 2016, and in 2019 a request was also made for the third. Since 2009, the company has held the title of the world’s largest ship, which was occupied by the “Oasis of the Seas”, but already on January 27, 2024, this honor will officially have to be handed over to the “Icon of the Seas”.
