Iceland stood for a giant bang in the European Handball Championship and crushed France 29-21 in the intermediate round in Budapest.
Both teams have been hit hard by the corona, but it was the Icelanders who managed to handle the situation best. Despite the fact that the first goalkeeper Björgvin Gustavsson and the big star Aron Palmarsson were among the total of seven players who were missing, Iceland offered a perfect effort – and not least, 21-year-old replacement Viktor Hallgrimsson shone in the goal.
