Ice Spice recently praised Taylor Swift for her ability to juggle fame and the music industry.
The Bronx drill rapper has emerged as the latest cover star for Rolling stone magazine and in her interview, she opened up about collaborating with the “Bejeweled” singer and how her guest verse on Swift’s “Karma” remix came to fruition.
Swift has previously defended Ice Spice – real name Isis Gaston – by saying Variety: “I identify with Ice in many ways, but I think it was his dedication and focus that blew me away from the beginning.”
She continued: “She is extremely professional without being cold. Playful and fun without ever losing sight of the objective. She knows what is and is not ‘her’ and sets those boundaries with grace.
“She studies the industry and other artists’ careers, but she’s very good at carving out her own definitive and original path. It’s her ability to carefully find that balance that impresses me so much.”
Speaking to Rolling stoneThe “In Ha Mood” rapper described the “Red” singer as her “closest celebrity friend” and revealed she cried “hysterically” after learning Swift wanted to work with her.
In a three-star review of his latest album “Y2K” released last week, ZikNation “…The star’s debut album is very promising, but it also contains some filler elements. It’s not a masterpiece that will silence the critics, but it’s not likely to slow down her rapid rise either. The lightning speed with which Ice Spice has been launched into the spotlight makes it easy to forget that she’s still in the early years of her career. She still has room and time to grow.”
