The population of the cities of Zurich and Winterthur will soon be able to get back on the ice: Tomorrow, Saturday, the various artificial ice rinks will start the new season – with appropriate corona measures.

In Zurich, the ice skating season begins on October 9th on the Oerlikon artificial track and in the Heuried sports center. The two facilities are open daily until March 13th, as announced by the Sports Office of the City of Zurich. The Dolder artificial ice rink is already open on Friday, October 8th.

On the artificial ice rinks in Oerlikon and Heuried, a mask requirement applies to persons aged 12 and over in the buildings. There is no need to wear a mask outside.

Winterthur ice skating season: ice disco takes place

In Winterthur, public ice skating will also start on Saturday, October 9th, on the outdoor field of the Deutweg ice rink.

The second outdoor ice rink will be opened for popular sports on October 25 – just in time for the start of the main season, which will last until February 27, 2022.

The ice disco will take place five times in the coming season, as the city of Winterthur writes in a media release. Other events for the coming season include the “Swiss Hockeyday” and the Eulach Cup in November.

A Covid certificate is required for indoor and outdoor use when visiting the Deutweg ice rink. Children and young people up to the age of 16 are excluded.

Certificates are also required in Eastern Switzerland

The ice rink in Frauenfeld TG will also open on Saturday. The artificial ice rink in St.Gallen has been open for around a month. Certificates are also required for these two railways.
