Ice skating rink opens at Rockefeller Center in New York

Traditionally, the facility attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors over the winter months. Last year, the ice rink was still open despite the coronavirus pandemic, and the ice rink was first set up for Christmas 1936. It is easy to recognize by the gold-colored statue of Prometheus from Greek mythology and the many US flags.

Next weekend, the traditional Christmas tree will be set up on the famous square in the heart of Manhattan. The spruce, adorned with tens of thousands of lights, is over 24 meters high.
