In recent days, figure skating fans have been discussing unexpected news about the breakup of the couple Vasilisa Kaganovskaya and Valery Angelopol. Many fans admit that they consider this a huge loss for figure skating, because in the future the athletes could win many awards and become real stars. However, Ilya Averbukh does not share this belief.
According to the athlete, the breakup of the duo definitely could not be avoided, although it hit the national team. And since Kaganovskaya and Angelopol did this at the very beginning of the season, when the programs were already ready, then it was the right decision.
“It probably couldn’t have been any other way since this happened,” — Averbukh said in a conversation with TASS.
In general, the skater wished good luck to the participants of the duet. He is confident that the athletes will be able to prove themselves individually and will not get lost among other figure skating stars.
