Ice Lions win against Frankfurt: Walther hopes that Brockmann will also extend after him

The Dresdner Eislöwen won against the Löwen Frankfurt in the ghost game with 4.2.

Dresden – He came back to stay: We’re talking about Eislöwe Timo Walther. The 23-year-old extended his contract and a wish before yesterday’s top game against the Frankfurt Lions.

Actually there were two before the game, because ghost games are not the atmosphere that he and the ice lions love.

But in the lion duel, which the home side won 4: 2 (1: 0, 0: 2, 3: 0), it was reality. “It’s going to be weird, but we can’t take it as an excuse,” Walther said before.

And the ice lions didn’t. They defended themselves from the first second with all means against the aggressively acting guests and even had one or the other good chance.

After a nice combination in front of the Frankfurt box, she put Johan Porsberger (18th) in front, which was not undeserved.

Constantin Vogt (29th) and Yannick Wenzel (32nd/outnumbered) turned the game around.

At 1:2, Walther stood on the ice and left with his head down. Another goal for his row, that always bothers him.

But he wants to learn from it. In Dresden, the man with the number 18 can do this. Most recently in the DEL near Nuremberg not.

“I get a lot of ice time here. That’s the best way to develop myself,” Timo says happily.

“That’s the ulterior motive why I extended. In Nuremberg I had two, three, four minutes per game, in Dresden 15 minutes plus x.”

And he repays this trust with performance. After Simon Karlsson (42nd) equalized to make it 2-2, Walther had the chance to make it 3-2.

But the disc went over it after his shot. That’s what David Suvanto (53rd) did. Shortly before the end, Frankfurt had the majority, but the defense stood and Yannick Drews (59th) put the lid on it.

There was still the Walther wish. “I would be happy if coach Andreas Brockmann stayed.”

The 54-year-old revealed: “It’s still too early for me, but there have already been preliminary talks.
