Slovak hockey players suffered their third loss in a row at this year’s World Championships when they lost to Switzerland 3: 5. The Swiss media also commented on the result of this duel.

Swiss Radio and Television (SRF):

Fourth victory in the fourth match: Switzerland defeats Slovakia after a 5: 3 win

In the fourth group match of the World Cup in Finland, Switzerland defeated the long-resisting Slovaks 5: 3. Three players with North American experience excelled in the match: Denis Malgin, Timo Meier and Nico Hischier. Thanks to the fourth victory in a row, the Swiss national hockey team leads the A-group table and thus takes an important step towards the elimination phase.

New Zurich newspaper (NZZ):

Also thanks to Denis Malgin and Jonas Siegenthaler: Switzerland defeats Slovakia and leads the A-group with the maximum number of points

The Swiss national team achieved the fourth victory out of four matches at the World Ice Hockey Championships thanks to a 5: 3 victory over Slovakia. Switzerland has once again shown a very strong weakening game and so far can rely on the great performances of top players Denis Malgin and Jonas Siegenthaler.

Switzerland also defeats Slovakia

As three years ago in Slovakia and nine years ago in Sweden, the Swiss ice hockey players started the Ice Hockey World Championship with four victories in a row. The triumph 5: 3 over Slovakia, however, was not as convincing as it might seem at first glance.

The big show in the match with Slovakia – the sacrificing Swiss remain undefeated at the World Cup

Tonight was a real flood of exclusions, especially in the second and third periods. It was especially interesting to see how many unnecessary and special penalties the referees gave. In the 44th minute, the third (!) Penalty for too many players fell on the ice. Switzerland complained twice about the wrong substitution. Fortunately, today the Swiss hockey players showed an excellent game in weakness. If this did not happen, the match could end in a completely different result.
