Finnish goalkeeper Jussi Olkinuora became the most useful player of the 85th World Hockey Championship. At the home championship, Suomi helped the world title, and in addition to the most prestigious MVP award, he was named the best player in his post and a member of the top six.

Olkinuora entered 8 matches, in which he collected only 9 goals – three of them in the final with Canada. He achieved a 94.83 percent success rate and an average of 1.11 collected goals per game.
Among the Finnish hockey players in the past, Teemu Selänne (1999), Pekka Rinne (2014) and Patrik Laine (2016) also won awards for the most useful player of the World Cup.
