The Slovak national hockey team has been training for several weeks before the 2021 Ice Hockey World Championships, with many players taking turns. Less than a week before the opening duel and the day before departure for the championship, Miroslav Šatan announced the final nomination.

Due to the complicated situation with a pandemic, teams can take up to 28 hockey players. Craig Ramsay had 31 at his disposal and had to eliminate three more. Black Peter remained the defender Patrik Koch and attackers Paul Regend a Patrik Hrehorčák.
On the contrary, all three young men will visit Riga. Still only 17-year-old Juraj Slafkovský and Šimon Nemec impressed with their performances in preparation and deservedly won a place in the team. They are supplemented by a year older Samuel Kňažko. Slovakia will have historically the youngest team at the world championships.
The world championship starts on Friday, May 21. The representatives of Slovakia will play a match against Belarus on the same day at 7.15 pm.
