For the second game in a row, it was scoreless after two periods. Then Linus Lindström became the match hero for Skellefteå when he decided with just over four minutes left.
But on Monday night it was Rögle who struck first when the Swiss Lian Bichsel scored 1-0 ten minutes into the third period.
– Two goals in the entire regular season for Bichsel and now he scores his first in the playoffs. Nice to see an old honorable shot!, commented SVT’s expert Jonas Andersson.
The goal stood the game out, despite good pressure from Skellefteå towards the end when it took out the goalkeeper. But for the second final match in a row, there was only one goal.
Pudas was injured
In the second period, a controversial situation arose where Röglesplayer Daniel Zaar tackled Skellefteå’s team captain Jonathan Pudas, who had to leave with an injury. Zaar was not expelled, which upset the home camp.
Now the series is tied at 1-1 down to Ängelholm with two home games for Rögle.
– The patience in the group and the work we put in defensively speak for us, says Daniel Zaar to SVT Sport.
