Ice HockeyKevin Fiala scores an amazing NHL goal
The St. Gallen winger scored the goal of the round with Los Angeles, beaten in Carolina (5-4 ap).
The two Swiss lined up in the NHL championship, where three matches were presented overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday, were faced with the bitterness of defeat.
The taste for the backhand is particularly pronounced for Kevin Fiala (26), whose Los Angeles team left the PNC Arena in Raleigh with only one unit. The Kings have indeed yielded in overtime to the Carolina Hurricanes (5-4 ap) after leading 1-4 at the time of the second tea.
The Saint-Gallen left winger of the Californian club was however the actor of one of the magic moments of the round. In the 32nd minute, on a breakaway, he scored a magnificent goal – his 18th since the start of the 2022/2023 regular season – with a shot as precise as it was sudden which left Danish goalkeeper Frederik Andersen no chance.
The No. 22 of the Kings has a record of 53 points in as many starts.
Big playing time for Berni
At the Nationwide Arena, Tim Berni (22) skated for 21’12” with Columbus, who gave up in overtime against the Washington Capitals following a success by Russian center player Evgeny Kuznetsov (3-4 ap).
The Zurich defender, however, maintained a neutral differential.
