A revamped formula
Due to the coronavirus, the group stage of the competition has been canceled. The 32 participating teams compete directly in a final phase which begins at the stage of the round of 16 (first leg and return). The first meetings will take place at the beginning of October, with the possibility of postponing the competition to November depending on the health situation.
Last season, Biel and Zug failed in the quarterfinals, respectively against the Swedes of Frölunda (future winner) and the Czechs of Mountfield (unsuccessful finalist). Zurich, Geneva and Davos were not qualified for this 2019-2020 edition.
