The knife was perhaps not on Frölunda’s throat, but not too far from there when they were down 0–2 in matches. But 0–3 in matches and the hope of a final would be almost gone.
And it was a really nervous event for the Frölunda supporters in the stands. It was 0-0 well into the third period, with Skellefteå being the team that pressed the most for a lead goal. But out of nowhere came a Frölunda goal with two minutes and 15 seconds left to play when Tom Nilsson sent the puck past Gustaf Lindvall.
Frölunda finally won 2–0 after Max Friberg put the puck into an empty net with two seconds left.
Skellefteå still leads the match series, but now with 2–1 in matches. The next match will be played, also in Gothenburg, in two days.
– 0-3 would have felt like that. 1-2 and match the day after tomorrow with this crowd, it gives energy, says Tom Nilsson to TV4 Play.
