Favorite tipped Fröunda has mixed and given during the season – until January 25. Then it was a 5-2 victory against Oskarshamn and now the team has extended the positive trend to six straight wins.
However, Tuesday night’s clash was not an easy nut to crack. Frölunda has lost the last seven meetings with Timrå.
– Ghosts are scared away by calling the Ghostbusters. Our Ghostbusters are our coaching team, said Frölunda’s coach Roger Rönnberg to TV4 Play before the match.
Acquitted with nine seconds left
It then looked like the ghost story would repeat itself.
The away team had a 0–2 lead in the middle of the third period after two goals from Filip Hallander. It resulted in Lasse Johansson breaking his stick in the Frölunda goal.
Then Frölunda woke up. Mikael Ruohomaa was responsible for the reduction before Carl Klingberg equalized – with nine seconds left in regular time. The match then went to penalties where Mikael Ruohomaa once again stepped forward and decided for the top team.
