Tie in the match series ahead of Saturday’s quarter-final between Frölunda and Leksand. But today the Gothenburg team put their foot down by winning 5–2.
Jere Innala broke the deadlock in the first period, after a questionable intervention by Filip Larsson in Leksand’s goal.
– How did that happen?, exclaimed TV4 Play’s commentator Lena Sundqvist.
The away team certainly equalized through Oskar Lang, but Frölunda was able to quickly regain the lead in the second period. Isac Born scored 2–1 before Innala scored two goals in the match.
In the third period, Frölunda scored two and Leksand one, which meant that the home team could finally win 5–2.
The next match is played on Monday, at 15:00. Should Frölunda win there, the team will advance to the semi-finals, where they will face Skellefteå.
