Ice front between Trump and DeSantis

If you look at the bookmakers’ odds for the US presidential election in 2024, you see that the two biggest favorites to become the Republican presidential candidate are Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis.

This could explain the ice front between the two.

On Sunday, Donald Trump will hold a rally in Miami and two other locations in Florida, where Ron DeSantis is governor.

Not invited

Trump is holding demonstrations to help Republican candidates ahead of the midterm elections, but DeSantis has not been invited, even though he is now running for office.

Senator Marco Rubio, on the other hand, was invited by Trump. He is racing against Val Demings on the democratic side.

– They didn’t invite Ron, which I think is idiotic. Why not at least try to avoid giving the impression of hostility? But in their defense, I don’t know if he would have come even if he had been invited, says a Republican source Politic.

DeSantis himself will hold three public meetings on Sunday. The incumbent governor will visit 13 cities ahead of the election campaign.

He is also the favorite to win the elections. According to the report, he leads his Democratic opponent Charlie Crist by 11.5 percentage points RealClarpoliticslast average measurement.

– I have no confidence that DeSantis will lose this, says Terje Sørensen, TV cruncher number 2, Sunday – two days before the election.

– The Trump camp created DeSantis

One of the outgoing members of the Republican Congress of State, Anthony Sabatini, thinks it’s only natural that Trump’s camp is more interested in helping Rubio.

– It was the Trump camp that created DeSantis. It would have lost by 10, 20, maybe 30 percentage points (in 2018) without Trump’s public support, Sabatini says.

Trump and DeSantis are both trying, according to Politico, to dampen the conflict in public.

It can get tough

The political website interviewed nine people with ties to Republicans, who say the strained relationship could turn into a verbal struggle in public in no time.

If, after the mid-term elections, Trump finally publicly says he will run for president in 2024, DeSantis will be one of his most dangerous opponents, according to bookmarkers.

He also has the finances to be involved in the presidential campaign.

– Trump can’t hold back and Ron knows it. What we see so far are strategic moves that don’t go directly to Trump. Ron is very smart. What he does will be calculated, says one of Politico’s sources.

It can create momentum

The outcome of Tuesday’s congressional elections could determine whether or not Trump will regain the White House. If Trump supporters in the Republican Party are doing right now, it creates momentum for his own candidacy.

Trump reiterated unsubstantiated claims that he lost the previous elections in 2020 just because Democrats cheated and warns against election fraud in Tuesday’s election as well.

This prompted the FBI and other security forces to warn of the possibility of violence from far-right Trump supporters.
