Ice Bucket Challenge co-initiator Patrick Quinn died of ALS

Seven years ago, in March 2013, the American Patrick Quinn was told that he had amyotrophic ateral sclerosis, or ALS. In ALS, nerve cells slowly die in the motor system of the brain, causing your muscles to deteriorate. The disease is deadly and incurable, but it can be partly slowed down with medication.
