There is one person who predicted the finalists of ICC ODI World Cup 2023 before the tournament started – Aussie player Mitchell Marsh. It was during the Indian Premier League (IPL) held earlier this year that Marsh said that Australia and India will face each other in this year’s World Cup cricket final. He had come to play for Delhi Capitals in IPL.

Mitchell Marsh’s prediction came true as hosts India defeated New Zealand in the semi-finals and Australia defeated South Africa to reach the final. Before this, when the two teams met in the 2003 World Cup final, Ricky Ponting-led Australia defeated Sourav Ganguly-led India to clinch the title.

Mitchell Marsh has predicted not only the finalists but also who will win the title. Speaking on a Spotify podcast for Delhi Capitals, Marsh said that India will face a massive batting collapse and the Aussies will win easily. “Australia will win the title by beating India in the final. Australia will take 450 runs for two wickets. India will be all out for 65 runs”, said Mitchell Marsh. But the question of the Indian fans is whether this is too much.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest at the finale. Reports suggest that former Indian cricket team captains MS Dhoni and Kapil Dev may also come to Ahmedabad to watch the match in person. The organizers have also planned a lot of entertainment for the spectators. There will also be a special air show for the fans on the final day. The closing ceremony will be accompanied by a special musical program by singers Dua Lipa, Pritam Chakraborty and Aditya Gadhavi.

It is reported that the family members of the players of the Indian team will also be in the gallery to watch the final. Apart from prominent politicians, former cricketers and families of players, BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) and ICC (International Cricket Council) heads will also be present at the final venue. Representatives of various state associations will also come to Ahmedabad to witness the finals.

The semi-final between India and New Zealand was played in Mumbai on Wednesday. After winning in Malsam, the Indian team members reached Ahmedabad.
