ICC Reacts to Russia’s Move to Put Prosecutor on Wanted List

The International Criminal Court (ICC), which earlier issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin, reacted to Russia’s move to put the ICC prosecutor on its wanted list.

This is reported on the ICC website.

The ICC stated that the institution is “deeply concerned” about the reported unjustified measures taken against his employees.

It is noted that The ICC considers such measures “unacceptable”.

The ICC said it stood firmly behind its staff and officials and, in line with the statement issued earlier today by the Presidency of the Assembly of States Parties to the ICC, called on all States Parties and interested parties to the Rome Statute to step up their efforts to protect the Court, its officials and its staff, and to ensure that it is able to continue to fulfill its independent mandate, the statement stressed.

Russia has added the ICC prosecutor to its wanted list

According to an article of the Russian Criminal Code

We remind you that a day earlier the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs added prosecutor Karim Ahmad Khan to his wanted listafter he issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin in March.

“Reason: Wanted under section of the Penal Code,” the message said.

Earlier Moscow rejected the president’s arrest warrant, arguing it was “irrelevant”. as Russia is not a party to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court and is not subject to its mandates.
