‘ICBM’ Capable Long-range Missile Launched by North Korea

North Korea fired a missile believed to be an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) into the East Sea.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff said it detected North Korea firing a ballistic missile into the East Sea at around 7:10 am today and said it appeared to be a long-range missile.

Considering the flight time, it is an analysis that it is highly likely to be an intercontinental ballistic missile ICBM.

The Japanese defense minister also said that a North Korean ballistic missile had just landed outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone.

North Korea’s latest missile provocation is believed to be aimed at the Korea-Japan summit scheduled for today in Tokyo, Japan.

Previously, on the 14th, two days ago, North Korea fired two short-range ballistic missiles in the Jangyeon area of South Hwanghae Province, and today’s launch is the sixth ballistic missile provocation this year.

In addition, on February 18, North Korea launched an ICBM at a high angle from Sunan, Pyongyang, and landed in the sea near Hokkaido, Japan.

While our military has strengthened surveillance and vigilance, we are fully prepared for possible additional provocations by North Korea.
