Chairman Diederik Gommers of the Dutch Association for Intensive Care (NVIC) is not yet convinced of the usefulness of introducing a curfew. In the talk show Jinek (RTL 4) he said on Tuesday evening that he was not in favor of this. “I think we should think very carefully about such a rigorous measure, which also has a huge impact on youth,” said Gommers.
He says he first wants to wait for further information from the Outbreak Management Team “to see if it will actually have any effect”.
According to him, the curfew is mainly intended to reduce the spread among young people between 20 and 25 years old. “You would like to prevent infections there.”
