Over the next year, Czech Television wants to launch a completely new version of its Internet video archive, which today operates under the name iVys Broadcasting. The redesigned video library should help the public media to better reach the young generation between the ages of 15 and 30.
“We have a project in progress, where we want to completely transform the form of our iBroadcasting. It should be as user-friendly as large platforms such as Netflix or HBO, but it will offer original Czech content, “said CEO Petr Dvořák in an interview for the monthly Reporter.
“I believe that in the future we should try to understand the target groups even better and at the same time look for ways to reach the content, especially to younger people and other channels than the television screen. We want to be able to talk to them and prepare content that is interesting to them, “said Dvořák, pointing out that, for example, the series Most! saw a third of all viewers on the Internet.
The dance show StarDance is also very popular on the Internet and social networks. “But it’s also because we are preparing special formats for these platforms,” added the CEO. In the interview, he did not rule out a re-candidacy to head Czech Television until his current mandate expired in the autumn of 2023. However, he does not want to decide until 2022.
