Zlatan Ibrahimovic doesn’t rule out the prospect of a return to MLS in the near future. The enigmatic Swede said: “Maybe if I come back I’ll have my own club,” he said when asked about rumors linking him to David Beckham and the Miami Inter.
The striker, who currently plays in Europe with AC Milan, previously spent two years in the United States with LA Galaxy, where he scored 53 goals in 58 appearances between 2018 and 2019.
With injuries catching up with him and a contract ending at San Siro, it has been suggested a return to the United States could take place in 2022, with a possible reunion with former Paris Saint-Germain team-mate Beckham , in Florida.
Not to miss
Asked by ESPN if he would be interested in a transfer to Florida, Ibrahimovic replied: “Maybe if I come back I’ll have my own club. Where I go I’m the boss. So that won’t change.”
Ibrahimovic does not seek to please
The 40-year-old striker has never been one to act in someone’s shadow, and it was clear that any return to the United States would require him to be given plenty of freedom to express himself.
