Sold for close to 50 million. Then Ibrahim Sadiq arranged another 100 million kroner for Häcken.
The winger was behind almost everything in the 3-1 win against Aberdeen.
– It was a completely crazy match, but I’m so happy, says the 23-year-old to Sportbladet.
A week ago, Sportbladet could reveal that Häcken’s star player was very close to a transfer to AZ Alkmaar for SEK 48 million.
It was an okay consolation after the Swedish champions lost a 2-0 lead to 2-2 in the first playoff meeting with Aberdeen.
Last match
The transition was completed and the return against Aberdeen was Sadiq’s last game in yellow and black.
– There was no doubt for me to play. I told my teammates before the match that I would be there all the way to the end and give everything, Sadiq told Sportbladet an hour after the final whistle.
He responded for 1–0 and 2–0 and set up the penalty that Amor Layouni made 3–1 for Häcken against Aberdeen and secured promotion to the Europa League group stage.

– There are many emotions now. I am incredibly proud of what we have done for the club Häcken and for Gothenburg as a city. There is an incredible noise inside the dressing room.
And your own feelings?
– I’m proud of myself too. I feel that I have contributed to the history of this club.
How was the match?
– Crazy. There was incredible pressure from their fans and sometimes they booed me. It turned me on and us even more. It was like a game in the Premier League.
“A dream ending”
In the penalty situation that led to 3–1, Sadiq was first warned for filming before the referee via VAR assessment withdrew the yellow card and awarded a penalty instead.

– I didn’t think it was true until I was warned. It was a great relief when he changed and made the right decision.
At the same time as Häcken made it to the Europa League group stage, Sadiq’s new employer AZ Alkmaar made it to the Conference League group stage via penalties away to the Norwegian Brann.
– This evening could hardly have ended better for me, Sadiq says with a laugh. It was a dream ending.
Now it’s thank you and goodbye for Ibrahim Sadiq after 27 goals and eight assists in 43 competitive matches for Häcken in 1.5 seasons after the move from Nordsjälland.
– It has been intense and Häcken and the fans will always have a place in my heart. I have had injuries and felt the support all the way.
How much will we hear about Ibrahim Sadiq in the future?
– I don’t want to say too much. I take it step by step, he says.
