Ibrahim Afellay is shocked by the news that Pier Eringathe former chairman of the supervisory board Ajaxwas not approached for KPMG’s investigation into a possible conflict of interest of the dismissed football affairs director Sven Mislintat.
Eringa was chairman of the supervisory body within the crisis club. He therefore had a key position in controlling the transfers that Mislintat made in the summer of 2023. Eringa was involved at the time in the choice to appoint KPMG as the investigation agency surrounding the Mislintat case.

“There is still so much wrong with Ajax. You now also see in such a report that the chairman of the supervisory board is not heard. Isn’t that unthinkable?!”, Afellay added on Sunday evening Studio Football. The analyst understands upcoming departure of commissioners Annette Mosman, Georgette Schlick and Cees van Oevelen, who made their positions available.
“It is clear that people who are partly responsible through the appointment of people and have not done their supervisory work cannot escape the consequences,” says the analyst.
