Lack of equipment, overcrowding of resuscitations and increase in deaths, doctors from the Ibn Zohr public hospital in Marrakech, better known under the name of Mamounia, organized a sit-in on Monday, August 17, to denounce the catastrophic state of the hospital following the mismanagement of officials in the region.
Moreover, and according to a source close to the file who confided in Hespress, the director of the hospital in question, in charge since the start of the pandemic of the care of confirmed Covid-19 patients, had resigned just days after his appointment to the post.

The demonstrators recorded in their slogans ” a lack of vital materials such as oxygen in the total absence of any official from the hospital administration, the provincial directorate or the regional director who is unable to make the bold decisions required at these crucial times of crisis “.
« The absence of a party to listen to the complaints of executives and health personnel regarding this painful situation puts them in the crater of a volcano, and forced them to confront patients and their families” , said Hespress a doctor on condition of anonymity who stressed that several health executives, at the front in the face of the pandemic for months, have died because of Covid-19 in front of ‘the total indifference of the hospital management ”.
