A man of 64 years has traveled to Ibiza for a 24 hour stay with only a change of clothes in a little bag, a story that has become very popular in the British media.
Andy Armstrong was challenged by his coworkers to spend a whole day of fiesta in Ibiza and accepted the challenge, which he carried out this month, even managing to get on the guest list for a Fatboy Slim event at Pikes.
This is the second time that I have retired party lover Andy has achieved this challenge after being challenged last year to party for 24 hours in Ibiza without accommodation. With the intention of repeating the feat, Andy decided to rise to the occasion again this year.
Arming herself with a Waitrose carry-on bag, she flew from Newcastle to Ibiza for 72 euros, arriving on the island shortly after 7pm.
24 hours of partying
Andy’s epic party began in the town of Sant Antoni with a beer at the Hotel Abrat while he watched the sunset and prepared for Fatboy Slim’s concert at 11.30pm at the Pikes.
Then danced all night, until dawn, before continuing the party at Eden nightclub for another couple of hours of revelry. As the clock ticked down to his flight home, Andy sat down to rest on an airport bench and returned to Leeds with a plane ticket that cost him 23 euros. Upon landing in the UK, Andy, with adult children, completed his unforgettable trip with a train ride home; the whole getaway cost him less than 250 euros.
For him, it’s all about the experience: “It’s an adventure and that’s what life is all about.” At 64, he lives by his own motto: “I’m 64 and, God!… I’m aging disgracefully!” Andy explained to the Manchester Evening News.
