It represents an investment of 72 million and is expected to generate project-related jobs for up to 260 professionals
VALLADOLID, 26 (PRESS EUROPE)
Iberdrola has obtained a favorable Environmental Impact Statement (DIA) for the development of one of its wind projects in Castilla y León, the Burgos Iglesias wind farm, which will have the most powerful onshore wind turbines in the world and which are manufactured by Siemens Gamesa .
As Iberdrola sources have informed Europa Press, the company is adapting this new wind power plant, which will have an output of 70 megawatts (MW), to meet all environmental requirements.
Likewise, generate enough clean energy to power more than 66,000 homes a year and avoid the emission of 32,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere each year.
With an investment of approximately 72 million euros, the construction of this wind farm will have an “important” local component, since it will employ civil works companies, such as Copsa, manpower, transporters, suppliers of raw materials (dry, cement, steel, prefabricated, etc.), cranes, ancillary resources, etc., as well as the promotion of industrial suppliers.
Up to 260 professionals are expected to be involved in the project during peak work periods.
It will also have a regional vision, the nacelles will be assembled in the Siemens Gamesa plant in Greda (Soria) and the gearboxes for the 6 MW wind turbines with a 170-metre rotor will be manufactured in Lerma (Burgos).
Likewise, different regional and national suppliers will be contracted to produce different components, such as the Avils and Linares wind turbine towers.
