Regarding the dust cloud of North Africa, which is felt in Madeira, until tomorrow, February 25, IASAÚDE recommends the following to people with chronic respiratory diseases:
– Keep the doors and windows of buildings closed;
-Avoid going out during the hours of greatest heat and the presence of dust;
– Avoid carrying out physical exercise in outdoor spaces;
– If you have to stay for periods outdoors, for example, working, wear personal protective equipment (mask to cover your mouth and nose) and take breaks in closed environments;
– Reinforce hydration, with frequent water intake;
– Comply with medication, as prescribed, seek advice at the Health Center in the area of residence or at the Complementary Consultation, in the health centers of Bom Jesus, Santo António and Câmara de Lobos (through Line 96 118 65 49).
