IACHR summons Jufed to a hearing to analyze judicial reform

Mexico City. The Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), Tania Reneaum Panszi, summoned the National Association of Circuit Magistrates and District Judges of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (Jufed) to a public hearing to analyze the recent judicial reform decreed.

“I am pleased to inform you that the IACHR has decided to convene a hearing on November 12, 2024 at 2 pm (Washington, DC time). It will take place in person at the IACHR headquarters (1889 F ST NW ,Washington,OC – United States of America)”.

I am pleased to refer to your request No. PS 191-1133, in which you express interest in attending a hearing during the next period of sessions of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), to discuss issues related to the matter mentioned above. . In this regard, I am pleased to inform you that the IACHR has decided to convene a hearing on 11/12/2024 2:00 pm (Washington, DC time). It will take place in person at the headquarters of the IACHR (1889 F ST NW, Washington, OC – United States of America).

The IACHR noted that to participate in the aforementioned hearing, attendees must have the corresponding accreditation. For this purpose, it is necessary that you send to the IACHR, within the next 10 (ten) days, the confirmation of your attendance on the indicated date and time, and the list of the members of your delegation.

Furthermore, they must let us know if any
member of the Jufed requires special support or adjustment for the purposes of his participation in the hearing, for example, an interpreter in Sign Language, interpretation in a different language, among others, in order for the Commission to consider it.

“If any of the people who make up the delegation require a communication from this Executive Secretary to process travel documents (such as a visa to enter the United States), please let us know within the next 48 business hours by sending a request by through the form whose link is available in the notification email”.

Likewise, it requested that, within a period of 20 days, counted from the transmission of this communication, they send to the Commission a written document summarizing the main aspects of their presentation, as well as any documentation that they consider necessary in the framework of the audience.
