The question always arose on Wednesdays: will he call back or not? As a reporter, you needed the latest information on the personnel situation, perhaps something tactical, or just to hear from his tone of voice how the training week had gone so far.
Many years later, things are different. They calmly agree on a (hopefully) longer meeting. At the agreed time, the phone rings less than twice and then it’s Benno Möhlmann.
Since the interview is being held on the occasion of his 70th birthday, the question naturally arises as to whether this anniversary has any effect on Benno Möhlmann. “I’ve been to a few funerals recently. That made me think more about getting older.” There won’t be a big party, “I don’t feel like that.” The extended family is celebrating – he feels comfortable in “his” team.
