Actor Eddie Murphy put on the table the possibility of a third part of the series filmic A Prince in New York, with costume designs by Ruth E. Carter.
Eddie Murphy explained in a talk with Variety’s Dream Teams, alongside Ruth E. Carter, that there should be a third part of the series filmic, which released a sequel this year after 30 years, and joked that now the film must come out “in 16 years.”
At the beginning of the month, in an interview with Live Kelly and Ryan, the comedian had assured that he already had the idea for A Prince in New York 3, which would take place 16 years later. By then Eddie Murphy would be 75 years old.
A Prince in New York 2 was released on March 4 by Amazon Prime Video, and tells the story of Prince Akeem 30 years after the first film, in search of his heir: a son not recognized that he had during his stay in New York.
The film, while it has the character of Eddie Murphy in a prominent role, it focuses more on Lavelle, his son illegitimate.
