‘I would do anything for my niece’, 300,000 euro fake arrest scam foiled

She carries out a 300,000 euro scam against a 94-year-old granny from Cagliari but is identified and arrested immediately after landing in Naples thanks to the synergy between the Carabinieri of the Sardinian capital and their colleagues from the Neapolitan capital. The granny didn’t think twice: “I would do anything for my granddaughter,” she replied; her heart won over reason and she handed over everything she had to a woman who showed up at the house. It involves 2,000 euros in cash and jewelry that had belonged to the family for generations for a total value that exceeds 300,000 euros. The military of the Cagliari company analyze the images of the home’s video surveillance systems in a few minutes and then sift through the videos of the local boarding terminal of the port. The intuition is right, but the twenty-year-old has just left for Naples. Thus begins an investigative synergy between the island’s carabinieri and the military of the Naples Central Company.
