Al-Marsad Newspaper – Agencies: The statements of the famous Tunisian artist, Mohamed Kouka, about his hatred of the veil and his call to remove it, similar to what former President Habib Bourguiba did, caused a sensation in the country and heated responses.
In statements to Channel Nine, Muhammad Kouka indicated that he hates the hijab because it “insults and degrades women,” as he claimed.
And he continued, “If a veiled woman intercepts me in the street, I hope that I take it off her head..This is selflessness,” noting that he “seeks to liberate women.”
Kouka’s statements caused a sensation in Tunisia, and he received a lot of reactions, as former MP Ziyad Al-Hashemi published a video clip of an artist who confirmed that Kouka defrauded her after she worked with him in one of the dramas that he participated in producing, and deprived her of her wages, commenting on it by saying: ” Artist Mohamed Kouka, who hates the veil and wants to liberate women from it, turns out to be defrauding women!
He turned to Koka, saying, “Before you think of liberating women, give them their rights and stop stealing them.”
