Wants to play a brutal villain: Urvashi
Actress Urvashi says she is interested in playing a cruel villain. She said that till now she has played characters that cause quarrels in the family and she always likes to play different characters. Urvashi was speaking in an interview given to Media One. The actor replied to the question whether he is interested in acting as a villain.
“I always like to play different characters. Our very concept of a villain must be male. It has to be someone who can hit the hero. I used to have a terrible voice. Many people make fun of Baby Uncle and Jose Prakash sir. Even I used to make fun of Mr. Perera. I don’t know if it’s because they don’t want women to play villains, or because no woman would do it and not be able to be such a brutal villain. I have only done characters that cause confusion within the maximum family. Otherwise, if such a character comes, I am very interested in doing it.
In the dowry, the character who cries while taking the dowry, mother-in-law and grand-nephew, but in the movie where the same pair is called the wife, the character who fights in the family and moves to another house is the character. Then the elements of such characters are done. And if you look at the Indian cinema itself, Mamta Mohandas has acted as a villain in the movie Bhramam. If I look inside it, it really looks like that, I’m afraid. I have not done such roles,’ said Urvashi.
Urvashi also talked about actor Indrans in the interview. She said that she first saw Indrans as a costumer and later felt that an actor of such caliber was used that way.
At first Indrans Chetan was only seen as a costumer. Apart from that, he has done some comedy films with me. After all that, I felt that an actor of such caliber was only used that way. I feel respect for this generation today and the current systems in cinema. You can see an actor in another dimension. Whether it is Suraj or Indran’s brother, this generation can see them all that way. In the past, if you fall into an image, you should stay like that,’ said Urvashi.
