I wish I was happy all the time. An almost open conversation with comedian Jānis Skuteli

This fall, the New Riga Theater began its final season on Miera Street, returning to its historic location on Lāčplēša Street next year. The theater troupe was joined by 11 graduates of the JRT course of the Latvian Academy of Culture, as well as the well-known Latvian comedian Jānis Skutelis and Artuss Kaimiņš, who has retired from politics. The busy premiere period has passed, but on the eve of the national holiday, we invited Jānis to have a conversation to talk about how she is performing in that theater. This is not his debut on the tables of the serious stage. Jānis has been collaborating with JRT for several years, but director Matīs Kažas’ latest feature “Neona pavasaris” is still on cinemas, where the comedian and actor plays a small but brilliant role.
