1×03 Solo: While Ettore’s PC is being analyzed by the Postal Police, Sara identifies the punkabbestia couple. Valerio traces them to a recovery community, where the girl says that Ettore did not jump into the river, but was thrown into the water by two men; moreover on Saturday and not on Friday, contrary to what was stated in the minutes. The young woman, however, does not intend to identify the culprits and when Valerio insists the other punkabbestia hits him making him lose consciousness. When he regains consciousness, the two disappeared, but another bad news awaits him: the PC has disappeared and someone has published the diary in which Ettore openly accuses his father of having abandoned him. Valerio suspects that the diary is false and is part of the misdirection. Gianni rushes to his aid. 1 × 04 Water: The shoe that Valerio found on the banks of the Tiber actually has traces of another place. As the former scientific colleague Alessandro explains to him, Ettore may have found himself in one of the travertine quarries in Tivoli. Valerio asks Arturo, a retired canine unit agent, to accompany him along with the Gandalf hound. In a stretch of water in the quarry he finds a T-shirt that belonged to Ettore and, overwhelmed by emotion and fatigue, he suffers a heart attack. Against everyone’s opinion, Valerio continues the investigation: thanks to the images of a surveillance camera, he discovers the suspicious movements of a van around the place where the body was found, which took place on the night of Ettore’s death. The vehicle is attributable to PGS, a private security company. He also learns that the autopsy report on Ettore’s body is false and a new medical examination shows that the cause of death is not drowning, but the beatings suffered. Through the magistrate Lentini, Valerio manages to reopen the case.

1 × 01 I’ll look for you: When the corpse of the young Ettore Frediani is found on the shore of the Tiber, everyone thinks it is a suicide. His father Valerio, a former policeman with many mistakes as a man and as a parent behind him, is destroyed by grief. As well as his ex-wife Francesca, who accuses him of what happened to her son, who had long lacked the father figure. Valerio is torn, he would not like to believe the facts, but he is overwhelmed by a sense of guilt. It is Sara, a former colleague with whom he had an affair many years ago, who points out how what Ettore left does not coincide with the profile of a suicide. Suspicion also confirmed by Martina, Ettore’s girlfriend, according to which the boy would never kill himself. When Valerio seems on the point of abandoning himself to pain, something unclear emerges from the first testimonies collected on Ettore’s death. 1 × 02 Trust: Valerio investigates to understand who was on duty on the night of Ettore’s death, but collides with the resentment of the new chief commissioner, Tom, who considers him a corrupt one. Only thanks to Luigi, one of the few colleagues who still respect him, Valerio discovers that the steering wheel shift sheet is wrong and that the witness’s call to 112 has mysteriously disappeared. He then informs his brother Gianni that he wants to stop in Rome: the reconstruction of a witness does not square, while according to a punkabbestia who lives on the river bank the other two witnesses have disappeared because they were taken away by mysterious plainclothes agents. Valerio vents with Sara, there are too many inconsistencies and oddities in that story. And he has confirmation of this when Martina gives him the computer that the boy kept hidden: it seems that Ettore was editing a video on Saturday morning, the day after that Friday night in which witnesses claim to have seen him jump into the river.
