/ world today news/ “A certain scenario, with big directors. Unfortunately, the state institutions also took their bait” – this is how the banker Tsvetan Vassilev described the situation around the Corporate Commercial Bank (KTB) in an interview for the show “Face to Face” on Bi Ti Vi.
When asked if he was referring to DPS deputy Delyan Peevski, he stated: “I am referring to a circle of people. The plan for the assassination is part of the scenario. And who and how much is involved in this scenario, I hope it will be clear – sooner rather than later.”
When asked if it was true that he took out 205 million, he said: “I was abroad all the time. Things are not computers, but compotes (or vice versa). I will give my testimony to the responsible institutions about this.”
Asked about the 3.5 billion BGN allegedly unsecured loans given out, Vassilev announced: “Mr. Governor should know that in my capacity as chairman of the Supervisory Board, I have no right to give out loans. All credit files, which are missing, are in one place – in the investigative bodies. These documents were seized from them”.
“Can you imagine BGN 3.5 billion loans without credit files?” Vassilev was indignant. “This is not only impossible, it sounds frivolous, because in the end you know that banks are among the most heavily controlled institutions. Someone just put my name in Mr. Iskrov’s mouth,” the banker was emphatic.
When asked who that could be, he said: “I believe it will be known very soon.”
Vassilev sharply attacked the governor of the BNB, Ivan Iskrov, saying that he is clearly working for the position he will hold in the future: “Mr. Iskrov clearly deserves the next position in society. In his capacity as governor, he had to protect the central bank. He humiliated the central bank with the lack of attitude towards the actions of its deputy governor. In the case of KTB, the sovereignty of the central bank was violated”.
“Yes” – this is what Vassilev said in response to a question about whether he is returning to Bulgaria these days.
“My name was tarnished and I will do everything possible to clear it,” he was emphatic.
Asked if all the problems started when he started sharing his business with DPS MP Delyan Peevski, after a few seconds of thought, he said: “I didn’t share business with DSP Delyan Peevski. For me, he or anyone was another was a normal customer of the bank. The attitude towards him and his associates was always the same – as towards customers”.
