GentOn Friday morning, a 39-year-old man faced domestic violence charges in a criminal court. He has attacked her partner several times, but the woman’s son, from a previous relationship, also shared the blows.
The man is currently illegally in the country. He arrived in Belgium from Morocco a few years ago and has been trying to legalize his residence ever since. “I would like to marry my partner, so that I also have the necessary documents,” he told the judge on Friday.
Two accidents
However, he will have to postpone his marriage plans, because the man has been in prison since last summer. He had acted aggressively towards his partner and son on several occasions. This first happened in March of this year. In front of the little girl’s eyes, the man punched her partner a few times, which left her unable to work for 11 days.
Five months later it was price again. The man was aggressive again in August and tried to strangle the woman. The wife’s son also had a hard time. He fell into the seat after a firm push. The carabinieri intervened and the man was arrested. It is not normal for a child to have to deal with this, “the judge said.
“You have no job, you are completely financially dependent on her, you also live illegally in the countryside and yet do you behave in this way towards the victim and the child?” Asked the judge doubtfully. “I love my partner very much. I will never do that again and it will also be the last time you will see me here”, the man made himself comfortable. At the beginning of December the judge will decide on the man’s sentence.
