Immediately after the treatment my skin was visibly red, but I would have imagined it to be much worse.
Aftercare: The right care after the laser treatment
In the evening I wash my face with cold water as recommended. Then I apply the calming cream again. I was given a small jar. I should only use it today and then throw it away. No sooner said than done. The next morning my skin feels dry. Light-colored scabs have formed at the extremely fine “puncture points” of the laser. You can only see it if you look very closely (left photo). I shouldn’t pick or scratch at the crusts, otherwise scars or new pigment spots could appear. If possible, I should also avoid using a cream so that the crusts do not soften and fall off on their own in the next few days. Only a disinfecting moisturizing spray that Dr. What Ourian gave me, I’ll be using it in the next few days. Add cold water in the morning and evening for cleaning. I stay away from the sun as much as possible for the first week. Every time I go out the door, I protect myself with a cap and walk on the shady side of the street.
The day after the treatment you can see small scab spots. They are a little stronger on the eyes because the doctor treated this area more intensively because of the pigmentation disorder.
I can easily hide the signs of treatment with sunglasses. I shouldn’t go out the door much in the next few days anyway. At least during the day – because sunlight should be avoided.
After a week I can use sunscreen again – and should start with a special night cream that the dermatologist prescribed for me. It contains hydroquinone, tretinoin, clindamycin, kojic acid and tranexamic acid – all active ingredients against pigment spots. Since the mix is so potent, I should let the cream creep in slowly. This means that I first use it two evenings a week, then four evenings, before I can finally apply it on five to seven evenings. My skin is a bit sensitive to the cream, which is why I take it slowly. The cream should work for ten minutes. Then I should apply eye cream and a moisturizing serum. I use the products from Ourian that he gave me for aftercare.

It takes about a month before I tolerate the tretinoin cream well enough to be able to use it every evening. In the meantime, my skin was always slightly red from the care and even peeled slightly from time to time. But as they say: beauty has its price. And beneath the redness, skin has now emerged as smooth as I last had in my early 20s – before I went to the solarium for the first time.
After: My skin eight weeks after the Coolaser treatment. She is much smoother and more radiant – without any make-up.
The pigment spots under the eyes have completely faded and the overall skin tone appears more even.
The close-up clearly shows how fine my skin is after the Coolaser treatment. The pores are virtually invisible. A colleague recently even told me that I looked like a “real-life filer.”
It goes without saying that I would never go under the tube again. I will now continue to receive care – until my next stay in Los Angeles. Which, by the way, is already coming up. We’re going back to Beverly Hills for Christmas. And I hope to have another appointment in Dr. Ourian to get hold of what he recommends? In any case, I would still address the loss of elasticity that the expert mentioned. I will report.
