The family driver of former Head of Propam Polri Division, Ferdy Sambo, Fort Ma’ruf admitted that something was wrong with Brigadier Yosua Hutabarat at Sambo’s private home in Magelang, Central Java. However, until now, Strong has wondered what he did wrong in the case of Yosua’s death in Duren Tiga.
Strong disclosed this when he was examined as a defendant in the Yosua Hutabarat murder case in the South Jakarta District Court on Monday (9/1/2023). At first, the prosecutor asked why Strong immediately told Magelang’s facts when he was questioned at the Provos Bureau, even though Sambo forbade him to talk about it at the time.
“I want to ask about the examination process, because in my opinion it is unusual for an examiner to immediately ask ‘Tell me from the beginning’, he will surely have a schematic frame of what this event is, have you ever been asked by the examiner what incident really is Did it happen? No. Maybe it’s immediately examined, try to say it in Magelang, it’s illogical, “asked the prosecutor.
Strong said the reason he told Magelang about the incident earlier was because he felt he was embroiled in a dispute with Yosua at the time. Strong admitted that he did not immediately report the events of Duren Tiga because he did not feel that he shot or killed Yosua.
“It’s stupid of me, because what I know is that I was having an argument with Yosua in Magelang. As for the shooting, I didn’t shoot, I didn’t even kill, but I’m under investigation,” Strong said.
Dissatisfied with Strong’s response, the prosecutor again asked the same question. Strong replied that at the time he was in a shaky position because it was the first time he had been questioned by the police.
“No, when you were questioned by investigators at Provos, what was the first question, why were you here, what happened, right? Can’t that be what suddenly happened in Magelang?” asked the prosecutor.
“So that’s it sir, at a time when I had never been examined in the past, I was asked for ID, address, first I was told to write by hand, I could not write ‘what a graduate’ ‘I graduated high school, I can’t sir, I’m shaking’ I said and then the police wrote that it was my home address,” Strong said.
“Please tell me, then I asked, ‘Sir, this was said from Magelang, ‘Oh, in Magelang, yes I just told the story,’ the police wrote,” he continued.
Strong admitted that he felt something was wrong with Yosua while in Magelang. Meanwhile, regarding the Yosua Duren Tiga murder case, Strong said he’s still wondering what he did wrong.
“So, just when he told you, you took the initiative to tell Magelang?” asked the prosecutor.
“Yes, because I had something wrong with Yosua, just in Magelang, what’s wrong with Duren Tiga?” Strong asked again.
Even the prosecutor was surprised by Strong’s statement. The prosecutor emphasized that Strong was under investigation at the time because Yosua’s death was not a matter of chasing Yosua while he was carrying a knife. But again, Strong felt he was being investigated because there was something wrong with Yosua in Magelang.
“You were questioned because a victim died, not because of your knife chase in Magelang, why?” asked the prosecutor.
“But in my brain, I was wrong with Joshua at Magelang,” Strong said.
In this case, Strong Ma’ruf was accused of involvement in the premeditated murder of Brigadier Yosua. It’s cool that Ma’ruf is called by the prosecutor to be involved in the premeditated murder of Yosua.
Strong Ma’ruf was accused of violating article 340 of the penal code, article 338 of the penal code in conjunction with article 55 paragraph 1 1a of the penal code.
The prosecutor in his indictment said that Strong Ma’ruf already knew that Ferdy Sambo was going to kill Yosua. That the knife Strong carried was used as a precaution if Joshua fought.
“Strong Ma’ruf, who also previously knew that Yosua would be shot, on his own initiative and will carry a knife in his shoulder bag that could be used at any time if Yosua fought,” the prosecutor said during the reading. the indictment in South Jakarta Trial Court, Monday (17/10).
