-A woman in her thirties who claimed to have been raped by actor Cho Jae-hyun (56) when she was a minor lost in the first trial.

On the 8th, the 17th Division of the Civil Agreement of the Seoul Central District Court (President Judge Lee Sang-ju) ruled against the plaintiff in a lawsuit for damages of 300 million won by a woman A against Jae-hyun Cho.

In July 2018, Mr. A filed a lawsuit for damages of 300 million won, claiming that he was sexually assaulted by Cho Jae-hyun in 2004 when he was 17 years old. In September of the same year, a decision was made for compulsory adjustment, but Mr. A refused to accept it and filed an objection and a formal trial was held.

In the process of defense, Mr. A argued that “they filed a lawsuit in terms of conveying their suffering.” In response, Jae-Hyun Cho said, “It is not true,” and refuted that “this case is a case in which the completion of the extinctive prescription is obvious.” According to Article 766 (1) of the Civil Act, the victim or his/her legal representative has the right to claim damages due to illegal acts. If not exercised for three years from the “Day I knew the perpetrators and the damage,” the prescription will expire. Meanwhile, in February 2018, Jaehyun Cho was designated as a sexual violence perpetrator during the “Me too” movement to accuse sexual violence in February 2018. After that, I apologized and stopped all activities.
